Craps is played with two dice which the shooter rolls to get a total score. There are two basic outcomes that stem from the total rolled. The first is a total from the two dice of 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12. If this happens the shooters turn finishes and gamblers win or lose depending on their position – the pass line or no pass bar. In basic craps these are the two bets you can make. A bet on the pass line loses if the total is 2, 3 or 12 but gets paid out even money for a 7 or 11. A bet on the no pass reverses these results except for the 12 which becomes a push, meaning nothing happens to your money and you have the option of leaving the bet on the table or picking it up before the next roll.

If the shooter rolled a total other than 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12 they continue to roll until they get the same total, at which point the round is a win. However, if they roll a 7 before they reach their original total, the round is a loss and the next shooter steps up.
