Play Online Roulette
Playing Roulette online offers you better value and higher winnings than in a real casino. Think about the costs involved in playing at a high end casino, the plane ticket, cab ride there, your hotel room, the cost of food and all those little extras all add up. Playing Roulette online gets rid of those hidden cost involved with real casinos.
Online gambling is convenient and easy. You can play online roulette where you want, when you want. Start a game at 3am in your pajamas and there’ll be no one there telling you about a dress code! Online Roulette offers the added freedom of being able to take your time placing your bets without being hassled. You can even play with your strategy and reference books right there beside you the whole game.
The biggest advantage online casinos have is the higher odds of winning than other casinos and gambling venues. A combination of lower operating costs than real casinos and fierce competition means online casinos can afford bigger payouts and need to offer other lucrative deals to draw in customers meaning big wins for you, the player. Online casinos offer massive bonuses based on your deposit and the amount you play. Have a look at some of the deals available to you.
Playing online is also a great way to hone your skills as a player, particularly for novice gamblers. Teach yourself to play properly online and work out the strategies that suit you best away from the distractions that come with real casinos. After practicing your gambling strategies and techniques online you’ll be ready to win big when you do step into a real casino.
Playing Roulette
In Roulette the aim is pick the number the wheel will stop on. You have the option of betting on combinations of numbers, colours and odds/even in order to increase your chances of winning.
Roulette Wheels
There are two types of Roulette wheels, American and European. The European wheel has less slots and a house edge of 2.63%. American wheels have an extra slot that increases the house edge to +5.26%.
The Layout
The Roulette table offers two different betting zones. You can place bets directly on a number in the inside area or you can choose to bet on odd/evens, colour and combinations using the outside boxes.
Buying In
Each player gets their own special colour roulette chips when they sit down at the table. The coloured chips can only be bought and cashed at the table itself and help avoid disputes about ownership of bets on the communal betting table.
The table minimum and maximums stand for both the inside and outside boxes on the betting table meaning you can’t spread your bets across both betting zones.
Inside Bets
There are a number of ways you can bet on the inside box. A Straight Up bet involves placing the chip on a single number. Landing on this number pays 35 to 1. You can split your bet by straddling multiple numbers. Straddling two numbers pays 17 to 1 and straddling 4 numbers pays 8 to 1. As yo become more proficient you can look into other split bets such as Basket Bets where you bet on the double zero, zero and 1 to 3 for a payout of 6 to 1 or street bets where you straddle the inside and outside betting zones.
Outside Bets
The outside area allows you to bet on red/black/odd/even for even money payouts. You can also make Dozens bets on 3 available combinations of 12 numbers (1-12, 13-24, 25-36). These payout at 2 to 1 also but if the wheel lands on zero or double zero you lose.
The dealer will keep the wheel spinning at all times, even in between spins. The ball is spun in the opposite direction to the wheel so that it will jump before coming to a stop.
Once the dealer places the marker for the winning number you are not allowed to place your next bet until they clear the previous spin.
Playing Tips
If there are bets down on the number you’re after, simply stack your bets on top. This is one reason why each player gets their own colour.
A full Roulette table will only get you about 30 spins an hour but will help limit your exposure to the house advantage.
You can still place bets after the ball is spun. Keep an ear out for the dealer who will make a no more bets call once the ball starts slowing down.
Roulette systems are a scam. There is no system that will help you lower the house edge in your favour. Save your money for the tables! A Roulette strategy will help you manage your wins and loses, learn more about Roulette strategies on our Roulette Tips and Strategies page.
